I am a lively, straight-talking person, known for being ultra-professional and totally reliable but with an enthusiasm for finding the positives and enjoyment that life has to offer.
My passion is in combining my expertise with the real experiences of people living with diabetes. I do this to provide reassurance and confidence in managing the condition so that it becomes less of a burden, better understood and more easily accommodated.
My ten years’ experience has taught me how to prioritise and assimilate the myriad of nutritional messages out there, into daily life. My sociable side has given me a wide network of friends and in addition to the clients I work with, this has allowed me to experience many different lifestyles and perspectives.
Whilst gaining a degree in biology, I identified Dietetics as my ideal career; I went on to qualify as a Dietitian and have never looked back. Starting in Suffolk, I soon specialised and have been working in diabetes in the NHS and privately ever since, now based from Dorset. Finding so many people whose diabetes encroached on their life in avoidable ways or who had a negative relationship with food because of out of date information, gave me a huge enthusiasm for my job. I set up this business to provide a level of service beyond that which the NHS can provide and which can be truly exclusive to each individual. My Health & Care Professions Council registration and membership of the British Dietetic Association Freelance Dietitians Group, gives you confidence that you are receiving a quality service from an accountable practitioner.
I have extensive experience in all areas of diabetes; type 1, type 2, gestational, MODY etc. as well as impaired glucose tolerance. I love working with people at all stages of their diabetes journey whether newly diagnosed, changing medication, stuck in a bit of a rut or facing a major lifestyle change such as moving out of home for the first time or starting retirement.
